Orange County, CA—The second annual Jimmy Campanis/Tommy Lasorda Charity Golf Tournament was held June 23rd, 2003, raising more than $60,000 for underprivileged children in Southern California. The event, which included 60 pro football and baseball players, was sponsored by Laguna Beach-based Arbitech, LLC. Proceeds benefit The Gary Center, a non-profit organization providing intervention, support and counseling for at-risk and abused children in Los Angeles and Orange County.
The golf tournament, named for the two baseball legends who headlined the event, is fast-becoming a local tradition—more than doubling in size from last year. The LEADING SPONSOR was Arbitech, the computer commodities trading firm, which also donated computers and other equipment to benefit The Gary Center.
Said Arbitech co-founder and COO Will Poovey, “We’re excited to see this level of involvement. The Gary Center does extraordinary work and we’re proud to play a role in supporting its efforts in our community.” To learn more abut The Gary Center, visit www.garycenter.org or call (562)691-3263.
