04/29/2009 - Arbitech Promotes Healthy Living for Teens via Partnership with Sound Body Sound Mind
Irvine, CA – Arbitech, LLC, the nation's leading independent computer hardware distributor, shows support to their local community by contributing to Sound Body Sound Mind, a physical fitness program established to promote self-confidence and healthy lifestyle choices among high school students in the greater Los Angeles area.
Arbitech's charitable contribution allowed SBSM to provide state-of-the-art fitness equipment to Dodson Middle School, located in the LA area. Additionally, a small team of Arbitech employees painted and prepared the gym for the new equipment. Dodson Middle School is the first middle school to participate in the SBSM program as their initial focus was at the high school level.
“The Simon's have done a fantastic job creating a low overhead business model that helps thousands of children in an area where our society has been falling behind quite a bit,” said Arbitech's CEO, Torin Pavia.
Sound Body Sound Mind was established in 1999 by Cindy and Bill Simon. In partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District, Sound Body Sound Mind provides each participating school with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, funding for professional development and the necessary tools to monitor student progress at each facility.
